The medical department serves seven villages in the Hudson Bay. There are four permanent doctors in Puvirnituq, two doctors in Inukjuak and one in Salluit. For the smaller villages (Umiujaq, Akulivik and Ivujivik), a permanent doctor visits them monthly.
